The room

A quiet, dark room with the screen already in it.

Velvet drapes run wall to wall on three sides. They swallow the echo, so seven people can talk across one table without raising their voices, and they close out the street completely when the projector goes on.

The ceiling is a field of pinpoint spots on a dimmer. Turn it up for a working session, take it down to a handful of stars for a screening or a product reveal.

Pull one curtain back and you get daylight and a view straight onto the Musée du Nord colonnade. Useful at the coffee break, closed again in five seconds.
